Brokering Notes

I am new to the industry. I purchased the Charter Financial course on brokering notes. I have no complaints but do want to make it known to many new investors who want to begin this way that it requires a tight marketing budget. Specifically, reaching out to mom and pop note owners, you will need to send alot of direct mail and be very consistent. What I've also found is that many notes are not worth their salt. So do not just take on any note as you do not want to damage your reputation.

Here at FIXnotes we use the term Mortgage Note Matchmaker, instead of Broker.  Since there are some licenses and requirements associated with being a Broker.   I do agree with what you mentioned.  Like in any business there are cost involved to be successful, especially when it comes to marketing and getting deals done.  Is the Charter Financial course geared towards seller financed notes or institutional notes?   There's opportunity in both, but we mainly focus on institutional notes.  There's also a lot of bad product associated with both, seller financed notes and institutional notes.  The more knowledgeable you are & the more value you can add in any business niche, the more successful you will be.  Best of luck with what you're doing.

Thanks for the response. I was not aware of needing a license or the other requirements. Could you elaborate? The course specializes in seller financed notes. I've always heard being a note matchmaker for institutional notes is near to impossible. Seems as if I may need to reevaluate my strategy.

Absolutely.  I think it's more state specific, just like the note business in general with regulations.  I think at a small level you're fine.  When it get's to be brokering big trades it starts getting into securities.

Good stuff.  Definitely opportunity.

In any business, if you want it bad enough, go for it.  Do your thing, and stay consistent.  There's nothing easy about success, but with the right education, mentors and taking massive action, many of people do it. Best of luck with all that you do.
