FIXnotes is a Philadelphia, PA based distressed mortgage investing consulting firm. Our business consists of two primary verticals: education & portfolio management with the mission of democratizing the secondary mortgage market in order to help investors buy/sell performing & non-performing mortgage notes across America.

Most homeowners in America purchase property by borrowing money from the bank. To make sure they get paid back, the bank has the borrower sign a Note (contract with terms promising to repay the money) and a Mortgage (the Security Instrument attached to the property). When a loan is “secured” it means that the home is collateral, giving the bank the right to foreclose and take back the deed to the property if the note isn’t repaid according to the terms.

In recent years, many homeowners (borrowers) have been struggling to pay their mortgage. Even the banks have been overwhelmed with the number of borrowers in default (failure to pay). Instead of foreclosing, many banks sell non-performing loans to investors instead of collecting themselves. This is the Secondary Mortgage Market.

As a point of clarification – this has nothing to do with “Mortgage Backed Securities”. FIXnotes works with “Whole Loans” – each Mortgage Note is a standalone investment, secured by one property & owed by one borrower.

We are seeking an Operations Manager to enhance our operational efficiency, work closely with our CEO, and play a pivotal role in steering our company towards its strategic objectives. Role Focus:

The Operations Manager will be instrumental in improving our operational systems, processes, and best practices. Aimed at operational excellence, this role demands strategic oversight, meticulous execution, and strong leadership to ensure our operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and refine the company’s operational processes and procedures.
  • Manage client fulfillment to ensure timely responses and maintain high-quality interactions.
  • Develop and implement operational policies for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain operational activities within budget, aiming for cost reduction and efficiency.
  • Lead the operations team, contributing to hiring efforts and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s broader objectives.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively.

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations management, demonstrating success in process optimization and team leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience building and maintaining high-performance teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in modern operations software (Podio, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and manage external vendors.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term operational plans
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and a commitment to continuous improvement.
